Animal Engineer (M/F)

SoundTalks is looking for an Animal Engineer (m/f) to join our team in Leuven, Belgium. If you are interested in making a difference in a young and innovative company, check out this opportunity and join us for our next adventures!

Your role

You will be responsible for setting up pilot installations with our new products and for evaluating our innovative products in commercial farms. You follow up the data collection and perform the analysis of the data.

You will be in close contact with farmers, veterinarians and leading entrepreneurs to discuss with them relevant information regarding our (future) products.

You will be involved in the realization of several funded research projects, including data collection, analysis and reporting.

You will report to the Animal Division leader.

Your responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
  • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
  • Perform test applications in accordance with established standards.
  • Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs
  • Report and participate in weekly meetings

Your requirements

  • You are familiar with livestock production and have the required technical and analytical skills.
  • You own a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Animal Science engineering (Bio-engineer, Professional Bachelor Agro- or Biotechnology) or a comparable relevant degree.
  • You have strong communication skills.
  • You like to work with animals (pigs, poultry)

  • Speak fluent Dutch and English, understand German.

Product engineer (m/f)

SoundTalks is looking for a product engineer with at least 5 years of experience to join our team in Leuven, Belgium. If you are interested in making a difference in a young and innovative company, check out this opportunity and join us for our next adventures!

The role

The Product Engineer is the primary technical lead for the development of our newest product, bringing it to the next level. There is currently a first version available so you will be continuing on an existing design. Your role will be to work actively on the electro-technical engineering part of the design and development. While coordinating your work with the embedded software team and steer the totality of the project according to the required timelines.

Another part of the job is to establish test procedures for quality assurance of finished products and work with external resources to resolve product issues

You will supervise a small team of hardware and embedded software engineers and report directly to management.

You will contribute directly and significantly in the upscaling of our business.

Requirements

  • You have a master degree in engineering or at least 5 years of relevant quantitative experience
  •  You have knowledge of embedded software
  • Knowledge on mechanical design is considered an advantage
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • You have supervisory and project management skills
  • Good knowledge of English is a must and you communicate easily with your colleagues in an international context.
  • You combine analytical thinking with a result-oriented approach.
  • You are dynamic, stress resistant and persistent in realizing your targets.
  • You are a team player and enjoy sharing your knowledge and experiences with others.
  • You understand that a small start-up requires a flexible working attitude
